The year 2021 marks the 10th anniversary of Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders EXTRA and we wish to celebrate with you. To mark this occasion, we want to share with you a selection of articles - selected by the Editor-in-Chief, Victoria Chan-Palay.
10 Years of Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders EXTRA
In 2021, the journal Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders EXTRA is celebrating its ten-year anniversary. When it was founded, the online-only, open-access sister journal to Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders marked the start of our embracement of Open Science. The EXTRA publications were instrumental in paving the way for the continued expansion of our Open Access program [1].
After one decade, Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders EXTRA is now indexed by the main bibliographic services, including the Emerging Sources Citation Index, and has a CiteScoreTM comparable to many leading publications in the field. It has fundamentally contributed as a source of quality research findings from renowned international scientists, clinicians, and early-career researchers. Since then, we have published ten volumes with contributions from more than 2,251 co-authors across 58 countries.
In acknowledging this milestone, we will highlight the most representative work of the last decade from among the journal’s published issues on a dedicated page. Moreover, all issues published in the anniversary volume will feature a specially created logo.
Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Prof. Dr. Victoria Chan-Palay, the journal’s founder and Editor-in-Chief for the last ten years, as well as our editorial board members, authors, reviewers, readers, and our staff, for their continued commitment. Only with their support has it been possible to achieve this journal’s success.
