Advertising Policy
- Advertisers and current or potential sponsors have no influence on editorial decisions. The editorial content is independent of commercial or financial interests.
- Advertisements should be clearly identifiable as such and distinguishable from editorial content. Sponsored supplements must be clearly indicated as such.
- Karger publishers will not sell treatment-specific or drug-specific advertising on the condition that it is displayed adjacent (i.e. juxtaposed, side by side) to a specific article mentioning that product in print. On rare occasions an advertisement may have been approved and booked for an issue and juxtaposition may occur coincidentally or at random. Online advertising may be targeted by subject and does not appear on the PDF version of articles.
- Karger Publishers does not endorse any product or services marked as an advertisement or promoted by a sponsor in a Karger publication.
- Karger Publishers reserves the right to decline any type of advertising that might be damaging to the Karger brand or is inappropriate to the content in Karger publications. Advertisements for products or services known to be harmful to health (e.g. tobacco or alcohol) or any illegal products will not be considered. Karger Publishers will not accept advertisements that may appear to be deceptive, misleading, indecent or defamatory.
- Advertisements for drug-specific campaigns or medical devices as well as any kind of sponsorship must be legal, decent and truthful; and must comply with the relevant laws, regulations and industry codes for the geographic area where it will be seen. In the case of drug advertisements, the full generic name of each active ingredient should appear. Advertisement for a prescription-only medicine should be clearly labeled as such.
- Karger Publishers reserves the right to withdraw or remove any advertisement from the journal print issue or website at any time if the Editor-in-Chief or Publisher requests the removal or if the advertisement violates Karger advertising policy or any law, rule, regulation or industry standards.
- Please contact us if you have any concerns about an advertisement (see "Journal Contact").
