The journal Cells Tissues Organs is seeking self-nominations for our young investigator award competition.
Call for Young Investigators
Cells Tissues Organs is pleased to support early career researchers in the areas of developmental biology, stem cell biology, and tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. We look forward to continuing to support researchers and promote cutting edge research. Announcements for each round of the award can be found on the CTO journal homepage.

Awardee Webinars
Explore our previously held awardee webinars where previous awardees discuss their research and experience of submitting to Cells Tissues Organs.
Eligible Applicants
Researchers who are an independent principal investigator (PI) and lead a research team.
Researchers who are non-tenured (Assistant Professor, Instructor, or equivalent).
Researchers who are no more than 15 years from their terminal degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent).
Submission of Application Materials
Applicants should send their abstract and biosketch/ CV to a member of the editorial board listed below by July 31st, 2023.
A two-page biosketch/CV highlighting research accomplishments. The biosketch/CV should highlight prior education, past and current employment, honors/awards, and publication history.
Researchers should submit a tentative title and a 250-word abstract detailing their potential contribution to the young investigator award issue.
The PI’s research should align with our three emphasis areas (developmental biology, stem cell biology, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine). Thus, the title and abstract should highlight one or more of CTO’s emphasis areas.

Awardees Information
Following review of application materials by members of the editorial board, we will select awardees in each of our emphasis areas.
Awardees will submit either a review manuscript or an original research manuscript for publication in a future, dedicated Young Investigator Issue of Cells Tissues Organs.
Awardees will receive recognition through a commentary article at the beginning of the issue.
Awardees will be listed on the Cells Tissues Organs website.
